“Try, Try but don't cry”
I think for people like us, the toughest thing is trying. We give up when we are the closest to success. I am not going to give you that boring and lousy speech on “keep trying”. I understand that sometimes we give up. That’s understandable. But, what I want to say is try until you succeed. Because “keep trying” is the only way, by which you can succeed in life. Many people, actually most of the people, give up on the last second when they are a stone’s throw from success- Okay, okay- I think it’s becoming a very monotonous speech. So, lets me just tell you a story:
Ok! Now, this is a true story that I am going to say to you. A long time ago, a young merchant came to India to start up his business. He was a very determined young man, whose only goal was to build up his name. His father gave him something like 50,000 rupees. At that time, that money was a hell lot of money. At first, he didn’t get what to do. He tried starting up a small business in many different states of India but that was all in vain. He went to Chennai, Bombay, Delhi, and many other places to start up, but to his dismay, he saw that there is a whole different level. People from all over the world came there to start up their business. The amount of competition was unimaginable. Then he started trying in much smaller states like Odisha, Bangalore, and all. But it didn’t also work. Years after years pass by, but nothing seemed to come in hand. The money was also getting less day by day. Over there, his father was also wanted his son to return and sent him letters day and night. So, one day, irritated by all of this, he thought to leave the country and help his father in his work. As per thought, he went to Kolkata port station. From there, he would go to Bombay and then to Paris. Over there, he humped on a steamer. Surprisingly, there were only 2 persons in the steamer. One was the merchant and another person was a saint. They started their chat and soon began to like each other. Before arriving at their destination, the saint told him to see if he could start a business in Bihar. But the merchant was all irritated of trying again and again. So he said that he didn’t want to try more. Then the saint told him, “Never say no, for you are infinite”. Those words had something and that seemed to do the trick and without even thinking twice, the merchant went straight to Bihar and started up the Iron and Steel Business. His business prospered beyond thought and is, right now, the second-highest manufacturer of iron and steel. Could you recall what the name of this guy is?
He is none other than the great Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata group of companies. So, you could see that giving up at the last moment is no good. If the saint hadn’t stopped him, then we could have never heard the name of Tata’s ever. So, try and try and if you fail, try again and keep trying. And by the way, could you recall the name of the saint? He is none other than the great saint, Swami Vivekananda.
